The weather has changed and now you have ants in your bathroom! Yikes! We've all found ants to be interesting little creatures, but when it comes to inside our homes, it's Not so cool!! I want to share how to get rid of them without harsh chemicals!
The little buggers are attracted to water and sometimes they show up in the oddest places. No worries, all you need is a mixture of Vinegar, Water, (I add dish soap), Essential Oil and just a bit of patience.
To start, be sure you keep your bathroom clean on a regular basis! Ants, Roaches and other bugs are attracted to food, water, glue, boxes and so many things, so it's important to know what they like to eat and don't like to eat. So obviously, don't leave food or sweets anywhere you don't want bugs, including the trash can. Ants don't like anything bitter, so vinegar is a great way to chase them away!
Ant Spray Recipe:
Add the following to your new spray bottle:
1 Part Vinegar, 1 Part Water, A few drops of Dish Soap, Aprox 6 drops of Essential Oil (buy at the grocery store or vitamin shop). I like vitaminshoppe.com for Essential Oils. Lemon and Orange are great scents for your bathroom!
If you're like me and wanting to go the most natural route, and want to avoid poison, you can spray down your shower walls and tub at night and let it sit, repeat a few more days or longer, preferably, after you see your last ant. Ants don't like anything bitter and so it won't kill them, but they "will" leave. It may take a few days to a week, but isn't it better to be safe with your family and our environment?
Safety Note: Never Mix Chemicals. Don't mix any other chemicals with your Ant Spray Recipe. This can also be used to clean your bathroom as well, as a general cleaner.
